Origin and properties: Calendula oil is obtained from the flowers of the native marigold (Calendula Officinalis). It contains the fat-soluble components of 100 g of calendula flowers dissolved in soybean oil and stabilized with tocopherol. The oil is orange-yellow and clear and has an aromatic odor. Calendula oil is miscible with paraffin oil, ester and triglyceride oils, but insoluble in water.
Use: Calendula oil is used to care for dry, rough and flaky skin. Care products with the addition of calendula oil are effective against dry ageing skin. In baby creams, it protects the skin from becoming sore. In hand creams, it eliminates chapped, cracked and reddened skin.
