Origin and properties: The castor oil plant is mainly cultivated in India, Brazil and China. The castor seeds contain 40-55% fatty oil. Pressing produces an almost colorless to slightly yellowish oil with a very faint characteristic odor and mild taste.

Uses: The pharmaceutical industry values its natural origin and uses it as a medicine (laxative) and as a raw material component. It is also used in the manufacture of cosmetics.
