Origin and properties: Peanut oil is obtained from the seeds of the subtropical peanut plant by pressing/extraction and subsequent refining. It is a pale yellowish oil with an odor and taste slightly reminiscent of peanuts. It is characterized by a relatively high content of arachidic, behenic and lignoceric acid. The main countries of origin are Senegal and Nigeria as well as the USA and Argentina.

Use: Refined peanut oil is an edible oil that can be heated to high temperatures. It is used as a base component for margarine. Refined peanut oil complies with all relevant pharmacopoeias and is used in many pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
