Origin and properties: The oil is obtained from rosehip seeds by refining, deacidification, deodorization and stabilization. The rosehip seeds originate from Chile. The oil is yellowish, transparent and has a neutral odor and mild taste. Rosehip seed oil mixes well with other oils, but is insoluble in water.
Uses: In pharmacy, rosehip seed oil is used to treat eczema, psoriasis, heavily pigmented skin and scars as well as to support the treatment of burns. Rosehip seed oil is also suitable as a base oil for dry ageing skin. It is used in ointments and (night) creams.
