Origin and properties: Safflower oil is obtained from the seed of the safflower. It is grown in the USA, Mexico, Argentina and Australia. Safflower oil, refined, is obtained from pressed and/or extracted seeds by subsequent refining. The oil is almost colorless to light yellow and has a mild, sapid taste.
Use: Safflower oil is a high-quality edible oil. It has the highest content of essential linoleic acid of all vegetable oils, making it an excellent dietary edible oil. Safflower oil is also used for pharmaceutical and cosmetic purposes.
