Origin and properties: Sesame oil is obtained from the seeds of the sesame plant by cold pressing. The seed contains approx. 38% fatty oil. The sesame plant is grown in India, China and Sudan. The filtered oil is light brown and clear and has a mild flavor.
Use: Sesame oil is a semi-drying oil. The cosmetics industry uses pressed sesame oil for body oils and as an active ingredient carrier for lipid-rich plant substances, vitamins and UV filters. Pressed sesame oil is also a highly refined edible oil.
