Origin and properties: The starting material for vegetable squalane is olive oil. The product is obtained by catalytic hydrogenation of the squalene (triterpene). The squalane content is at least 96%. Squalane is a colorless and odorless liquid. The source of the raw material is olive oil from Spain.
Use: Squalane is 100% oil-soluble, largely oxidation-stable and non-drying. It is preferably used in the manufacture of skin care products such as hand and body creams and emulsions, as it has a positive effect on spreading properties. It can also be used in liquid emulsions such as bath additives, skin oils, cream blush and in the field of lip care.
